សមាគមកម្ពុជាការពារអ្នកកាសែត (Cambodia Association for Protection of Journalists)ជាសមាគមកាសែតតែមួយគត់នៅកម្ពុជាដែលជា សមាជិករបស់សហព័ន្ធ​អ្នកកាសែត​អន្តរជាតិ (International Federation of Journalists)។ IFJ មានសមាជិក ៦០០ ០០០ នាក់នៅ ១៣១ ប្រទេសលើពិភពលោក៕

What is CAPJ? The Cambodian Association for the Protection of Journalists (CAPJ) is a professional organization for Cambodian journalists who believe in freedom of the press and the rights of the society to obtain information and diverse opinion, and in journalistic professionalism and the welfare of journalists. CAPJ was founded on September 16th 2000 at a meeting of 30 journalists from 20 press organizations in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The participants also used the opportunity to show the non-profit, process in democracy and open way and impartial association in Cambodia to the world and regional countries.
CAPJ opposes all forms of repression on the press as it is convinced that democratization can occur if the flow of the information is not disrupted. CAPJ opposes false new and sensational news that mislead the readers and listeners.

CAPJ is committed to establishing a fraternal spirit among the Cambodian journalists and step by step to reach the goal of responsible representative of the voice of the people. Our commitment takes the form of several programs such as discussion and seminars about the freedom of the press and journalistic training.

CAPJ will publish about the press and other mass media, publication of quality book and other events deal with the press in Cambodia, legal assistance and humanitarian help for those journalists and their families who are confront with repression, improvement in welfare for journalists as well as protection with help from international press institutions.
What is different between CAPJ and other Cambodian press associations in Cambodia?
CAPJ comprises most of Cambodian journalists who work with foreign media in Cambodia. CAPJ has no affiliate with government or any politicians or political parties.
CAPJ is headed by chairperson and a governing council with seven (7) members, each of whom is chosen at CAPJ’s congress.
CAPJ has an open door to every Cambodian journalist who respects the status and code of ethic of CAPJ.
What is the goal of CAPJ?
The goal of CAPJ is to uphold the freedom of expression, press freedom, freedom of flow of information and oppose all the pressure from any side to Cambodian journalists, and to improve the standard of Cambodian press from day to day.
CAPJ is a member of IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) and SEAJU (South East Asia Journalist Unions) and a partner with SEAPA and IFEX.
